Five-minute walkthrough of the TheraSnap Chrome extension.

Getting Started

Five steps from install to your first auto-populated note.

Step 1

Install the Extension

  1. Install TheraSnap from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar and pin TheraSnap for easy access.
Step 2

  1. Click the TheraSnap icon in your toolbar.
  2. Sign in with your TheraSnap account (email/password, Google, or Apple).
  3. You must have an active TheraSnap subscription.
Step 3

Accept the HIPAA Agreement

On first login you'll be prompted to review and accept the HIPAA agreement. This is required before you can use the extension.

Step 4

Add Your EHR Domain

  1. Click the TheraSnap icon → Settings (gear icon).
  2. Under Configured Domains, type the domain of your billing software (e.g. app.clinicsource.com).
  3. Click Add Domain.
  4. Chrome will ask you to grant permission for that site — click Allow.
Tip: you can add multiple domains if you use more than one billing platform.
Step 5

Populate Session Notes

  1. Navigate to your billing software and open a page where you'd usually enter a session note.
  2. Click the TheraSnap icon in the Chrome header — you'll see an Activate Field button.
  3. The screen will grey out, prompting you to click on the field you want to use as your notes field. Once you click a field it's activated, and a clipboard icon appears next to it.
  4. Click the clipboard icon — a menu will appear with your clients and sessions.
  5. Search or scroll to find the right client and session date.
  6. Click to select — the notes automatically populate into the field.
  7. Review the populated notes and save as usual in your billing software.

Optional Features

Power-user tools you can enable as you go.

Sync Data

If your latest sessions aren't showing up, click the TheraSnap icon and hit Sync to pull the latest backup from the mobile app. Mobile sync can take up to 5 minutes.

Smart Client Filtering

In Settings → Smart Filtering, enable client name detection. The extension auto-highlights the most likely matching client based on names it detects on the page.

Manual Field Activation

By default, buttons appear on all text fields on enabled domains. Use Activate Field in the popup to pick specific fields instead.

Audit Logs

All actions — logins, note populations, setting changes — are logged for HIPAA compliance. View them in Settings → Audit Logs, with search, filter, and CSV export.
